So you think you need a website? Or a new look for an old website? Let us help you take the "guesswork" out of your website development. We follow a structured approach to website design and development, through various phases and review points to ensure that your final product is what you had in mind. They are: 1.
Initial Concept/Planning Meeting |
|
Our Development Process 1. Initial Concept/Plannning Meeting - we meet with you to gather information concerning your website concepts, focus, purpose, and target audience. It is best to have samples of any logos, letterhead, or advertising materials that you are currently using. 2. Initial Design - our website designers will take the information you've supplied and generate a few sample designs from which you may choose as a starting point. A document detailing the pages for your site, their content, and navigation will be created along with a plan for advertising your site to the web, and detailed cost estimation for the remainder of the development. The following is a set of four designs for a new website. Click on image to enlarge.

At that meeting, we may work with a particular design, moving images, trying different images, and reworking the design until you like it. We also will go through the desigfn document with you to review the content and navigation. This is also the time at which, if we are creating an online database, that we may gather more information concerning the file contents, search criteria, and presentation requirements. After we agree on the design of your website, we begin the task of developing your site. 4. Site Development - Your site will be developed in a testing environment where you may review the site on the web at your leisure. We use state-of-the-art development tools, and we have a flatbed scanner for scanning images, a slide scanner, a fish-eye lens for 360° images, stitching software that can piece photos together into a panorama, and many more methods for capturing images and correcting, coloring, cropping, resizing for your website. Don't be afraid to ask for something "tricky", as we have expertise in Perl, CGI, Javascript, Flash, etc. to accomplish your desire. For example, the customer above wanted the front page to show a different picture every time a visitor went back to it. Another customer wanted a form filled out by a visitor to be emailed various places depending upon responses to the questions. 5. Site Testing/Review - once the site is complete, while still in our testing environment, our in-house analysts test and review the site to ensure accuracy and completeness before it is made "live". Any corrections or modifications are made at this time, and you are also asked to review it again before it is "available to the world". 6. Site "Live" - The site is turned on for the internet world to see. 7. Analyze Advertisement Requirements for search engines - We analyze your site and your competitor's sites to help determine method and best keywords for you to use to become highly placed on the major search engines. This varies greatly depending upon whether we are remaking an existing site that has already been advertised, or a new site that has never been advertised. Unfortunately, this step cannot be done until the site is live. We will "tweak" your pages to help with the process before we actually perform the advertising step 8. Advertise your site to various search engines 9. Monitor traffic and reevaluate/enhance placement
